Amid multiple inquiries from European clubs, both River and Mastantuono himself are clear that there is no rush to leave, unless an interested party triggers the release clause set at 45 million euros. In this context, the Parisian team seeks to position itself as the main candidate to acquire him in the next transfer window, and has already given concrete signals in that direction.
In recent hours, two important moves by PSG to advance the operation have been revealed. First, it was confirmed that Portuguese manager Luis Campos will continue as the club's sporting director until 2030, after renewing his contract. Campos is the one leading the decisions in terms of signings and has a particular interest in adding Mastantuono to the squad led by Luis Enrique.
Additionally, it has emerged that PSG has already started talks with the young River Plate player's entourage, directly driven by Campos. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the executive deeply admires the Argentine footballer and sees him as a key piece to strengthen the team's attack in the next season.
From River, the goal is for the young player to continue at least until December 2026and to sign a contract extension to prevent him from leaving as a free agent. However, if any club decides to pay the release clause, the possibility of an early departure becomes concrete.
