Attention Racing: the tempting offer from Neymar's Santos for Marco Di Cesare
The Brazilian team wants to finalize the signing of the Academy defender before the transfer window closes next August 30
Less than three weeks before the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores against Vélez, Gustavo Costas received news that alters Racing's plans. Marco Di Cesare is on Santos's radar, a club where Neymar is a reference and is now managed by Juan Pablo Vojvoda after Cleber Xavier's departure.
The brand-new Argentine head coach is looking for reinforcements to avoid Peixe's relegation and has already submitted a formal offer for the defender from Mendoza: 4 million dollars for 70% of his transfer rights. However, in Avellaneda, they consider the proposal insufficient and are seeking between 6 and 7 million for that percentage, which belongs entirely to Racing (the remaining 30% corresponds to Argentinos Juniors).

In addition to the amount, there is another obstacle, since La Academia requires bank guarantees to back the transaction, a requirement the São Paulo club has not been able to meet so far. With the Brazilian transfer window closing on August 30, time is working against Santos, which could improve the offer in the coming days.
Cagliari from Serie A in Italy has also joined the bidding, managed by Fabio Pisacane, who has a connection with Diego Milito from their days as players at Genoa. The Sardinians, like Santos, know that only an amount close to 6.5 million dollars could take Di Cesare away from Racing.

Di Cesare's performance at Racing
Since his arrival at the club, the defender has played 58 matches, scored two goals, provided one assist, and won the Copa Sudamericana and the Recopa. His future will be decided in the coming days, just as La Academia prepares for one of the most crucial clashes of its season.
