El presidente Luis Abinader informó que República Dominicana y la Agencia Antidrogas de Estados Unidos (DEA) implementarán acciones “más extensas y profundas” en la lucha contra el narcotráfico. El mandatario señaló que los detalles operativos de esta nueva fase de cooperación serán anunciados en los próximos días.

El presidente Luis Abinader informó que República Dominicana y la Agencia Antidrogas de Estados Unidos (DEA) implementarán acciones “más extensas y profundas” en la lucha contra el narcotráfico. El mandatario señaló que los detalles operativos de esta nueva fase de cooperación serán anunciados en los próximos días.

Abinader explicó que sostuvo una reunión con altos mandos de la DEA, quienes felicitaron al país por los avances alcanzados en materia de seguridad y por los resultados acumulados en decomisos, operativos y fortalecimiento institucional.

El presidente agregó que también se reunirá con una comisión de la Cámara de Representantes de Estados Unidos, con el objetivo de ampliar la coordinación bilateral y reforzar las capacidades conjuntas en materia de crimen organizado y control de narcóticos.

El Gobierno destacó que esta agenda forma parte del compromiso de mantener una política de seguridad activa, con enfoque preventivo y mayor intercambio de información con las autoridades estadounidenses.
