Christian Horner's departure from Red Bull Racing shook Formula 1 and brought an end to a two-decade era. His dismissal was made official this Monday, but what stood out the most was the impressive amount he will receive as severance pay.
According to British media outlets such as The Telegraph and BBC Sport, the Briton will receive an amount close to 80 million pounds sterling (about 90 million euros).

Horner had renewed his contract until 2030 and his departure is due both to non-compete clauses and to the tensions the team was experiencing. Under his leadership, the team won eight drivers' titles, including all four of Max Verstappen's, and six constructors' championships, establishing itself as a powerhouse in modern motorsport.
The reasons for the dismissal
The Briton was informed of his removal with "immediate effect" after the British Grand Prix. Although he stated he had not received clear explanations, various reports point to a mix of factors: the pursuit of greater control from the headquarters in Austria, divisions following Dietrich Mateschitz's death in 2022, and the loss of trust from key shareholders.
