Renault begins production of its new compact pickup truck in Argentina
Renault has started manufacturing its new compact pickup in Córdoba: it will compete with the Fiat Toro and will be released in 2026
Renault took a key step in the development of its new national compact pickup. The first pre-series units have already been produced for a model that targets the segment where Fiat Toro, Ford Maverick, and Ram Rampage currently compete.
The project, identified as H1312, is getting closer to final production. Although its definitive name has not been confirmed, everything indicates that it is the model previewed by the Niagara prototype.

What does pre-series production involve?
This is a crucial stage prior to the commercial launch. It serves to adjust all technical and logistical details before mass production begins.
During 2024, no fewer than three units per week will be produced on the same line where Kangoo, Logan, and Sandero are currently assembled. This is an unusually high figure for this type of process, highlighting the importance of the project.
This is what Renault's new compact pickup will be like
The model doesn't have a confirmed name yet, although it could be called Renault Niagara. What is known is that it will be positioned above Duster Oroch and below Alaskan.

In other words, it is entering a segment that is increasingly competitive, where Fiat Toro leads along with other options such as Ford Maverick and Ram Rampage. It targets those seeking a versatile, urban, and more affordable truck than the one-ton models.
It will be manufactured on a global platform
It will be the first vehicle made in the country with the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGM). This global and flexible architecture will allow the model to offer multiple options in size, traction, and powertrain.
- Lengths between 4 and 5 meters (13 feet 1 inch and 16 feet 5 inches)
- Wheelbases up to 3 meters (9 feet 10 inches)
- Single or all-wheel drive (4x4)
- Options with gasoline, flexfuel, LPG, mild hybrid, and full hybrid engines

This opens the door to a varied range, with more efficient alternatives in consumption and emissions. It is a strong commitment to technology without neglecting the functional focus of a pickup.
When will it arrive on the Argentine market
Renault's new truck will go on sale in 2026, with versions, prices, and equipment yet to be confirmed. It will be manufactured at the Santa Isabel plant in Córdoba, which already produces several models of the brand.
The objective is clear: to compete strongly in the compact truck segment and regain ground against brands that have dominated this niche in recent years.
