The congressman who betrayed the ideals of freedom wants to increase taxes on fuel and gambling
The deputy who betrayed the ideals of freedom, Ricardo López Murphy, proposed implementing a significant tax increase on fuel and gambling in order to raise pensions.
On the +Data program, broadcast by LN+, the legislator explained that he didn't support the Kirchnerist bill to increase pensions because it was poorly designed and would harm small and medium-sized enterprises due to changes in the tax regime for Reciprocal Guarantee Societies (SGR).
However, the deputy proposed an equally outrageous measure that would destroy Argentinians' wallets: “I have already submitted and will resubmit a bill to recover the 7.2% for those who have fulfilled their pension contributions, and which next year provides for a 20% adjustment. Even with that and inflation, the increase received by those under the moratorium wasn't matched.”

Regarding how to finance the measure, he proposed a scheme based on higher taxes on gambling and fuel. “The gambling tax would be 25% on the determined profit, meaning the rate would go from 40% to 50%.”
“In the case of fuel, there would be a 10% increase per liter for all fuels. That's USD 3.5 billion. The other solution is to say I don't know where I'd get it from. I don't say that because otherwise the counterattack would be that we're fiscal degenerates and irresponsible,” he added.

When asked about the possibility of the resources coming directly from the State, López Murphy replied that it is “very constrained,” although he admitted that alternatives could be explored.
“That day in Congress we were going to vote on the fuel fund. The governors want it to come from the Treasury and go to them, but I don't want it to go to the Treasury or to them, but to social security, because we have a very large deficit even with what I'm proposing,” the legislator stated.
“It's a sophisticated bill. Everyone is afraid to vote for something like this when you say where the funds are going to come from,” López Murphy concluded.
