River reached an agreement with América de Cali, and Juanfer Quintero will be a new signing.
The Colombian will sign for four years after resolving his departure from the club that couldn't fulfill its contract
Juan Fernando Quintero's return to River is finalized. After weeks of uncertainty, América de Cali has accepted the Millionario's latest offer:2,250,000 dollars for 100% of the midfielder's transfer rights, who had joined the Colombian team at the beginning of 2024.
The contract that the Colombian will sign with the club he loves will be for four seasons, although he must first travel to Buenos Aires for his medical examination, which is scheduled for next Thursday.

Rumors about his departure began a few weeks ago, when it emerged that América hadn't paid him since his arrival in January. Quintero himself clarified that he did receive part of the money, but not all of it, and that the club couldn't cover the contract. River, alert, waited for the right moment and negotiated directly with the player and the Cali management until reaching a final agreement.
This way, Juanfer will have his third spell at River. The previous ones were between 2018 and 2021, during which he was the protagonist of one of the most memorable goals in the club's history in the Copa Libertadores final against Boca in Madrid, and in a brief stint in 2022.
Quintero's numbers with Los Diablos Rojos
In his brief time with the Cali team, Quintero played 21 matches between Liga Dimayor and Copa Sudamericana, in which he scored three goals and provided five assists. His last official match was on June 16, in the 1-0 victory over Junior de Barranquilla. Since then, he hasn't been drafted again, neither against Independiente Medellín nor at the start of the Clausura against Llaneros.
