After several days of uncertainty, River finally managed to reach an agreement with Parma Calcio 1913 to secure future financial compensation for Luca Scarlato, the 16-year-old youth player who decided to leave the club and continue his career in Italian soccer under the protection of the legal concept of parental authority.
The departure of the midfielder, who was considered one of the greatest prospects in the youth divisions of the Núñez club, caused strong discontent among the club's management, since the footballer chose not to sign his first professional contract and to move to Europe without River receiving immediate compensation. The situation, which is increasingly common among young players with European citizenship, raised alarms at the club regarding the protection of its developmental assets.

In that scenario, El Millonario began negotiations to protect its interests and even warned various Italian clubs, including Parma, that it would resort to legal action before FIFA if they proceeded with signing the player without a prior agreement. After rejecting two initial proposals for being considered insufficient, an understanding was finally reached with the club from Parma.
