Rodolfo D'Onofrio harshly criticized Martín Demichelis after the Superclásico
The former president of Millonario didn't hold back when referring to Micho, such as his criticized tenure at the institution and his terrible relationship with Enzo Pérez
Happiness reigns at River after the valuable 2-1 victory against Boca in the Superclásico held at the Monumental, corresponding to the 15th matchday of the Apertura tournament. However, it didn't take long before statements emerged that stirred the atmosphere. After the great triumph, with goals from Franco Mastantuono and Sebastián Driussi, Rodolfo D'Onofrio spoke up and made some explosive statements.
The former president of River participated post-Superclásico in the program "Gol Gana" by Olga and referred to something that, although it seems distant today, once kept the River Plate world on edge. The issue in question was the conflict between Enzo Pérez, one of the standout figures in the match against Boca, and Martín Demichelis, the team's former coach.

D'Onofrio's criticism
"For those who have ever criticized a player who went to Estudiantes and came back... Do you realize, right? Did you learn? That not only does he reach everywhere, but he's a leader you need?" expressed the former president about Enzo Pérez, before harshly pointing at Demichelis.

"For someone who made him leave River and we're going to meet in Los Angeles (at the Club World Cup), try to recognize that you made a mistake and a big one," stated D'Onofrio.
Delving into that conflict, the former president of the Millonario didn't hesitate to show his stance. "Not only does he lack charisma (Demichelis) to reach people, but he made a mistake that even an eight-year-old wouldn't make. You can't talk off the record with seven journalists and tell them that such player 'this thing,' that such player 'that thing'...," he pointed out.

He also emphasized: "I've played many sports, I've experienced many things. When you have a leader, the one in charge, and he speaks badly outside the group, it's wrong. Talk to the players, don't do that, because you're going to break everything... And he broke everything."
Finally, he recalled his reaction upon learning of the situation: "When I found out about that, I came back and met with someone from River and I said 'you have to fire him because he won't be able to manage this group anymore'".
