Rodrigo De Paul spoke about the changes in the national team and praised Maravilla Martínez.

Rodrigo De Paul is already in Argentina to join the national team's training sessions, as the squad prepares to face Chile and Colombia in a new double matchday of the Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The World Cup-winning midfielder spoke to the press and shared several thoughts about the team's current situation and the generational change process.

When asked about the possibility of a draft for Adrián Maravilla Martínez, De Paul did not hesitate to respond: "Leo makes the list (Scaloni), but I congratulate Maravilla Martínez, as well as other players who are doing very well." When pressed about whether Racing's forward should be in the national team, he added: "He's doing very well, you would have to ask Leo."

Regarding his role within a group that has worked together for several years, De Paul acknowledged his responsibility with the new drafts: "I don't know if I'm a leader, but I've been here for a long time. I think we were also taught to show the way to the new guys,  so they come, excel, and stay for many years."

One of the young players generating excitement is Franco Mastantuono, a promising talent from River, and De Paul was brief but clear about him: "Advice? No... he should come and do what he's doing at River, because he's doing very well."

In the upcoming matches, the national team will seek to maintain its lead at the top of the table and continue strengthening both its established stars and the new faces who are trying to earn a place in Scaloni's plans.
