Guillermo Moreno had a tense exchange with the journalist live on Opinión Pública, on El Nueve. The discussion escalated when Romina Manguel asked him about the legal cases involving him. Moreno reacted arrogantly and ended up leaving the studio.
It all started with a back-and-forth filled with tension. The journalist wanted to review the convictions the former official has from his time in the Kirchner government.
Todo comenzó con un ida y vuelta cargado de tensión
When Manguel mentioned the manipulation of INDEC, Moreno became defensive: "That's what you say. Can you look up the conviction?" he said, visibly annoyed.
Moreno tried to justify himself but was exposed
Instead of calming down, Moreno tried to downplay the legal cases. "I was declared innocent in the data manipulation. I was convicted for destroying documents and abuse of authority," he said.
He then justified the episode: "They were papers that went through a meat grinder. It's another story," he explained, as if it were a minor anecdote.
"Lower your finger": the most tense moment of the exchange
Under pressure, Moreno raised his tone and Manguel didn't let it slide. "Go to a place where you have respect for the interlocutors," she firmly retorted.
"I go where I'm invited," he replied. The tension kept escalating until the host stopped him abruptly: "Lower your finger."
Moreno subió el tono y Manguel no se lo dejó pasar
Moreno demanded an apology and left without saying goodbye
In an attempt to turn the situation around, Moreno demanded Manguel apologize for saying he was convicted of manipulation. "Apologize and I'll leave," he insisted. The journalist, now visibly annoyed, replied: "And you stand up like a rude person and leave: I don't feel like saying goodbye, go."
Before leaving the studio, Moreno added: "I wasn't going to say goodbye. I came to grab the book I had given you." "Go do the show somewhere else," Manguel dismissed him.
