Russo plans changes for the match against Unión: Paredes focused and key returns
The head coach adjusts the midfield and adds Cavani and Herrera to the squad list after the poor debut in the Clausura against Argentinos Juniors
Boca is fully immersed in training sessions to leave behind the dull draw against Argentinos Juniors at the start of the Torneo Clausura. Aware of the need to improve performance, Miguel Ángel Russois already planning changes for Friday's match against Unión at La Bombonera, where Leandro Paredes could also receive his first draft since returning to the club.
The main change is expected in the double pivot, replacing Williams Alarcón, who has underperformed, with Tomás Belmonte. In addition, in the line of three supporting Miguel Merentiel, Kevin Zenón is competing for a starting spot with Malcom Braida and Carlos Palacios to play alongside Alan Velasco.
Another question mark concerns Nicolás Figal, who had been dealing with calf discomfort. Tests ruled out an injury and he will be evaluated in upcoming training sessions; if he responds well, he will remain in the starting defense.

Paredes, Cavani, and Herrera among those drafted
The big news will be the inclusion of Paredes in the squad list despite having only one week of training. "I have no doubt about playing him," Russo remarked, who trusts in the world champion's good physical condition.

Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani, who missed the debut due to a blow to the intercostal area, and Ander Herrera, recovered from the muscle tear suffered in the Club World Cup against Benfica, will return. Both trained alongside the group and, although they still need to regain match fitness, the coaching staff plans to have them at least on the substitutes' bench.

With these moves, Boca aims to improve the image shown against Argentinos and secure its first win in the championship in front of its fans.
