Samsung Galaxy S26: leaks reveal its processor and how it would impact the price
Samsung could manufacture its own version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite to reduce costs and have more control over its S26
Samsung is beginning to define its strategy for the upcoming Galaxy S26 line-up. Although its launch is still some time away, there are already key leaks about its processor and possible changes in manufacturing.
The South Korean company seeks to improve costs and performance. One of the main new features would be that it will begin manufacturing a version of its next high-end chip, while continuing to use Snapdragon technology.

Will Samsung stop using Exynos in its Galaxy S26?
Last year, the Galaxy S25 family set aside Exynos processors due to production issues. Instead, all models used Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.
For the new generation, Samsung would maintain this decision. However, it would go a step further: it would begin to manufacture its own version of the chip, although it would still be based on Snapdragon architecture.
Which model would Samsung manufacture and what advantages would it have?
According to leaks, the SM8850s model would be manufactured by Samsung itself, while the SM8850 would remain in TSMC's hands, as is currently the case.
- This could lower production costs.
- It would give Samsung greater control over pricing.
- The company could even sell its chip to other brands.

The information was shared by leaker Digital Chat Station on the social network Weibo. According to his sources, the chips manufactured by Samsung would be more affordable than those made by TSMC.
Performance
The processor in question would be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite, one of the most powerful on the market. The question now is whether the version manufactured by Samsung will have the same level of efficiency as TSMC's.

TSMC stands out for its performance and energy efficiency. It remains to be seen whether Samsung's in-house production will be up to the task.
