Marcelo Culotta, opposition board member who submitted his resignation and is awaiting confirmation, spoke about the complex institutional situation that San Lorenzo is going through and the Board of Directors meeting that will take place this Tuesday, where the definitive return of Marcelo Moretti to the club's presidency could be decided.
"Regarding the Board of Directors meeting that we will have on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the stadium's box, it is uncertain what may happen at San Lorenzo," he stated.
The board member was blunt about the former president on leave: "The truth is that they are doing great harm to San Lorenzo, that is very clear. The club has a future ahead and it is not with this administration, much less with Marcelo Moretti. He made it very clear in his 20 months of management that he is incapable of leading an institution as large as San Lorenzo."
Culotta calificó de incapaz a Moretti
Culotta, however, did not only speak about Moretti but broadened the focus: "Many people talk about him, but not about the rest who accompanied him and who had many problems carrying out the administration. They made mistakes, had problems with bankruptcy filings, and economic, financial, structural, and political issues."
The board member also recalled the leave of absence that Moretti requested in May: "At that time, we were pushing for him to be removed because of what had happened and what we all saw publicly. After that, the ethics and discipline tribunal's ruling was issued, which many are overlooking. That ruling was not brought to either a Board of Directors meeting or the members' assembly."
Regarding a possible return of the president on leave, Culotta was clear: "He requested a leave of absence and we understand that it could be lifted, but behind that lifted leave the corresponding resignations must be in place to achieve the vacancy and free us, not only from Moretti, but also from this disastrous San Lorenzo administration."
La reunión de la CD será clave para el futuro institucional del club
Finally, he reaffirmed the path that Ciclón must go through: "Let them lift the leave of absence, then let the vacancy be achieved by that Board of Directors, and then a call for elections within the period stipulated by the members' assembly."
