Santiago Castro is one step away from making one of the biggest leaps in his career. After establishing himself at Bologna, the Argentine forward will continue his journey at Roma, which has reached an agreement to acquire him in a deal close to 35 million euros.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Italian capital club will pay 30 million euros fixed plus another 5 in variables to secure the 21-year-old attacker. In the coming days, the former Vélez player will travel to the Italian capital for a medical examination and, if no issues arise, will sign a long-term contract before joining the team coached by Gian Piero Gasperini.
For its part, this transfer will represent significant news for Fortín. Although the Liniers club did not retain a percentage of a future sale or a capital gains clause when transferring the forward to Bologna, it will receive around one million euros thanks to FIFA's solidarity mechanism, which rewards training institutions for the international transfers of their players.
