The president of San Lorenzo, Marcelo Moretti, was already facing criminal charges and a process in the AFA Ethics Tribunal due to a hidden camera that showed him receiving 25 thousand dollars from the mother of a young player. His situation worsened even more after the release of new audio recordings.
In the first of the voice messages, María José Scottini, the woman appearing in the video handing the money to the official, can be heard mocking the moment when Moretti grabs the bills and puts them in the inner pocket of his jacket without counting them.
"I found it funny. He grabbed the money and stuffed it inside his suit! Did you see the desperation? It was like a World Cup moment," she comments to her interlocutor, who, according to host Tomás Méndez, would be one of her assistants.
In another audio, Scottini tells the person she is talking to that she will hand over the remaining 5,000 dollars of the agreement directly to Moretti, without the intervention of Francisco Sánchez Gamino. The latter was the director of Studies for National Development, under the orbit of the Chief of Staff, and was removed from his position after the images were released.
