The president of San Lorenzo, Marcelo Moretti, was already facing criminal charges and a process in the AFA Ethics Tribunal due to a hidden camera that showed him receiving 25 thousand dollars from the mother of a young player. His situation worsened even more after the release of new audio recordings.
In the first of the voice messages, María José Scottini, the woman appearing in the video handing the money to the official, can be heard mocking the moment when Moretti grabs the bills and puts them in the inner pocket of his jacket without counting them.
"I found it funny. He grabbed the money and stuffed it inside his suit! Did you see the desperation? It was like a World Cup moment," she comments to her interlocutor, who, according to host Tomás Méndez, would be one of her assistants.
In another audio, Scottini tells the person she is talking to that she will hand over the remaining 5,000 dollars of the agreement directly to Moretti, without the intervention of Francisco Sánchez Gamino. The latter was the director of Studies for National Development, under the orbit of the Chief of Staff, and was removed from his position after the images were released.
"I'm going to screw them with those 5,000 dollars. Now that we're going to start going there, to Boedo, I have to fix the house, fix the radio studio, I'm going to see Moretti often. I'll tell him: 'Here, this is what I owed you.' Do you know how he's going to stuff it inside his suit again?" Scottini remarked.
The Board of Directors accepted Moretti's leave
The management of San Lorenzo approved the leave request submitted by Marcelo Moretti, who is judicially compromised due to a complaint against him for alleged bribery.
"Everything should be clarified in the ordinary Justice, where the Club will appear as a plaintiff in the case, and also in the Ethics Tribunal," stated the official communiqué released by the blaugrana entity on its networks.
It was also highlighted in the message that they will seek "for all political sectors represented in the Board of Directors to participate in this moment the institution is going through".
