The United States Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, announced that he had a conversation with the Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo, and reaffirmed the Donald Trump administration's support for President Javier Milei's economic plan in Argentina.
In a message posted on X, Bessent revealed that he had a "very positive call" with Caputo, and anticipated that in the coming days a team of Argentine officials will travel to Washington to move forward in defining mechanisms for financial support.
"After intense work since the meeting between United States President Donald Trump and President Javier Milei in New York, in the coming days I expect Minister Caputo's team to come to DC to make significant progress in our in-person discussions on options to provide financial support," Bessent stated in his post.

The U.S. official also highlighted that during his conversations with the G7 Finance Ministers, he emphasized the importance of the success of the Argentine economic program: "I emphasized the importance of the success of President Milei's economic policies for the people of Argentina, for the region, and for the G7."
