Filmmaker Santiago Fillol, originally from the city of Córdoba, is among the protagonists of the next Academy Awards ceremony. His work as co-writer on the film Sirat has allowed the talent of the Córdoba native to reach the highest levels of the film industry. This film, directed by filmmaker Óliver Laxe, will represent Spain in the Best International Feature Film category during the March 2026 ceremony.
The production already has a successful international track record after having received the prestigious Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025.
