Second departure at Boca: Simón Rivero renewed his contract, but he's going on loan to Tigre

The midfielder was not among Miguel Ángel Russo's considerations and will be loaned to the Victoria team for 18 months

Meanwhile, Boca is experiencing days of excitement due to the arrival of Leandro Paredes. The second departure in this transfer window has been confirmed: Simón Rivero. The 22-year-old midfielder will move to Tigre on loan for 18 months, with a purchase option at the end of the agreement. Before finalizing his departure, he will sign a contract renewal with the club.

Miguel Ángel Russo had already informed the player that he wouldn't be part of his plans and suggested that he look for a new destination before the start of the Club World Cup. In fact, Rivero didn't travel to the competition in the United States, just like Cristian Lema and Esteban Rolón.

Trained in Boca's youth divisions, Rivero made his first division debut in 2022, in a 1-0 victory against Vélez, where he came on for Oscar Romero a few minutes before the end. One week later, he played again against Aldosivi, but after those brief appearances  he didn't wear the blue and gold jersey again.

In 2024, he played on loan at Unión, where he appeared in 23 matches, scored one goal and provided one assist. Under the guidance of Kily González, he became an important piece for the team. At the end of the season, he returned to Boca at the beginning of this year.

With his departure already confirmed, Boca so far has only parted ways with one other playerJorman Campuzano, who left permanently for Atlético Nacional after returning from his loan.

Beyond this, everything indicates that Rivero's departure might not be the only one. Except for the players considered non-transferable by Russo, the club is willing to negotiate for those players who receive suitable offers. Nevertheless, the Xeneize management has decided that it won't unilaterally terminate contracts.
