The shocking offer Dibu received after his failed move to Manchester United
The Argentine goalkeeper was not transferred to Old Trafford, was relegated at Aston Villa, and is now considering a multi-million dollar offer from Turkish football
Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez received an unexpected blow in his career. The goalkeeper for the Argentina National Team had decided to leave Aston Villa and had reached a contractual agreement with Manchester United. However, negotiations between clubs never progressed: communication was not optimal and ultimately the English side signed Belgian Senne Lammens, who came from Royal Antwerp, for 21 million euros.
The transfer of the world champion was valued at around 30 million euros, but United chose to invest less money in Lammens and set aside the arrival of the Argentine. That turn left him shaken and facing an uncertain outlook.

In this context, the relationship with Aston Villa became strained. The goalkeeper requested not to play in the last match and, according to reports, the club would sideline him from the team after he forced his departure, leaving a completely deteriorated image.
However, a club has emerged that wants to sign him immediately: Galatasaray. The Turkish team submitted a formal offer of 25 million euros to sign him right away to fill the vacancy left by Fernando Muslera, who is currently at Estudiantes de La Plata. The proposal includes a three-season contract, with a salary that would place him among the highest paid on the squad.

The dilemma for Martínez is not simple, since he would leave the Premier League, the most competitive league in the world, to play in the Turkish Super League, a lower-level environment. The appeal, however, is that Galatasaray will play in the Champions League and has made strong signings in the market with stars such as Leroy Sané and Victor Osimhen.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa has already started negotiations for Diogo Costa, Porto's goalkeeper, although his departure will only happen if the release clause is paid.
This is a decisive moment for Dibu, especially with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon. Remaining in the European elite seems crucial, but a change of scenery seems inevitable and Galatasaray is tempting him with a guaranteed starting position.
It is worth remembering that Martínez extended his contract in August 2024 until June 2029, becoming a key figure at the club. Although Villa wants to keep him, his intention is to leave and define a new path soon.
