According to witnesses, the Lamborghini in which the footballer was traveling reportedly suffered a tire explosion while overtaking another vehicle.
This caused the vehicle to lose control, crash into the side of the road, and catch fire completely. The fire consumed the car within minutes.

The footage was recorded by people passing through the area and later shared by the Portuguese outlet Os Monhacas. The clip shows the vehicle engulfed in flames, with no possibility of rescue.
