Marcos "Chino" Maidana shared details of the shocking motorcycle accident he suffered ten days ago in Santa Fe. He flew 150 meters (492 feet) after colliding with a car and, against all odds, had no fractures.
"The motorcycle saved my leg because I hit sideways. I hit it with the engine, which has an anti-shock bar, and that's why I didn't hit the car. Otherwise, I would have broken everything," explained the former boxer.
The moment of impact
Maidana recounted that, although he doesn't remember everything clearly, he was going at high speed when he saw a stopped car. "When I tried to avoid it, it made a U-turn, and I hit it sideways. It threw me off, and I ended up flying 150 meters (492 feet)," he said.
The car's driver thought the worst: "He saw me fly and thought I was dead," added the Santa Fe native.
Medical attention: he was treated at the Samco in Florencia and the Regional Hospital of Reconquista.
Currently, Maidana continues his recovery at home. "I'm alive by a miracle. I'm used to hits, but none like this one," he joked.

Chino Maidana's career
Born in Margarita, Santa Fe, he debuted as a professional in 2004 and had a remarkable career in international boxing. He has a professional record: 35 wins (31 by KO) and only 5 losses. He was also a world champion in the WBA super lightweight and welterweight categories. He faced figures like Adrien Broner and Floyd Mayweather.
About his fights with Mayweather, he recalled: "In the first one, I went to win, but in the second, I went up injured. They injected me for a rib, and my strategy was to look for a lucky punch, but it didn't happen", he admitted.
