Silvia Lospennato supported the radical Kirchnerist candidate Leandro Santoro.

The candidate and PRO representative stated that 'Santoro isn't the problem,' but his list is

Just days before the legislative elections in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, the PRO candidate, Silvia Lospennato, expressed strong support for the radical Kirchnerist candidate Leandro Santoro, representative of the Es Ahora Buenos Aires list, the list promoted by the corruption-convicted Cristina Kirchner.

During an interview on the A24 outlet, Lospennato stated: "I know him, Santoro is not the problem with that list, the problem is the list, not Santoro", avoiding directly attacking the Kirchnerist candidate and directing her criticisms solely at the composition of the Kirchnerist list.

Lospennato's words, a prominent figure of the PRO and backed by Mauricio Macri, once again surprise in a campaign context marked by polarization between the national government, represented by La Libertad Avanza with Manuel Adorni, and the opposing forces, including the Buenos Aires Kirchnerism.

Macri admitted that Lospennato wanted to step down

Yesterday, an intimate scene was revealed that portrays the internal unrest of the PRO and the tensions its leaders are experiencing. During an interview on TN, Macri recounted that Lospennato called him in tears to say she wanted to leave politics.

"She called me crying, telling me 'I want to leave, enough, politics makes no sense'", Macri confessed with laughter and condescension, exposing the vulnerability of one of the PRO's main legislative figures. The account, far from being an act of empathy, exposed an intimacy that made Lospennato herself uncomfortable, who reacted at the moment: "Yes, but stop telling that", she reproached visibly annoyed.

Macri, however, continued: "Well, but that's human, that's human, Silvia, that's human. You felt... Then, of course, two hours later you were back to fight and struggle, because you're a warrior".

The scene, which quickly went viral, exposed not only the emotional side of the legislator but also a marked fracture within the party, where the leaders themselves acknowledge in private—and now also in public—the discouragement caused by electoral deterioration and the lack of firm leadership.

On May 18, the seats of 30 legislators will be renewed, who, since December, have been responsible for approving and modifying the laws applied in the Buenos Aires area.
