'Star Wars' returns to theaters with a plan inspired by Marvel
Star Wars returns to theaters with Rey as the protagonist and a new saga connected to the style of the Mandoverse
Star Wars is preparing for a major return to the big screen. After years on pause, Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed their plan to build a new top-tier era.
The starting point will be The Mandalorian & Grogu and then the film New Jedi Order, with Daisy Ridley reprising her role as Rey Skywalker.

What will the new Star Wars saga be like?
The strategy is clear: build an interconnected universe, in the style of the successful Mandoverse. In other words, a crossover narrative between series and films that evolves in stages.
This new approach will leave behind the rigidity of the classic trilogies. Instead, it will seek a more flexible development adapted to current consumption habits, where streaming is gaining ground.
Daisy Ridley returns as Rey: what is known?
The British actress will once again portray Rey Skywalker at the start of the saga. Her role will be key to introducing a new generation of Jedi and consolidating the direction of this stage.

The story will continue from the events of Episode IX and will be the first step in a narrative that will grow with staggered releases.
The Mandoverse as a model
Everything indicates that Disney wants to replicate the formula that worked with The Mandalorian. This series not only revitalized interest in the saga, but also set a new narrative style.

With a slower pace and a focus on character development, it managed to capture an audience that was asking for more depth and less empty spectacle.
Streaming and cinema
Lucasfilm understood that success is not only on the big screen. For this reason, the plan combines Disney+ series with theatrical releases, aiming for a major final event.
This hybrid approach responds to changes in content consumption.

What other productions are on the way?
In addition to Rey's story, new films such as Taika Waititi's and a possible appearance by Ryan Gosling are already in development.
All these titles will coexist within the same narrative framework. The idea is to expand the universe without losing coherence, in the style of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
