The platform is the home of all productions from the universe created by George Lucas.
Ryan Gosling joins the Star Wars universe with a new film that promises action and a standalone story.
The film is titled Star Wars: Starfighter and will be directed by Shawn Levy, with a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper.
The film will be part of the Star Wars universe, but with an original story. It won't depend on classic characters or seek to appeal only to nostalgia.
The plot takes place about five years after The Rise of Skywalker, although with new protagonists and no direct connection to previous installments.
According to its director, Shawn Levy, the goal is to tell a story that "stands on its own."
This vision was shared during the Star Wars Celebration by Levy, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, and chief creative officer Dave Filoni.
Ryan Gosling will be the lead actor in Starfighter. His versatility makes him a strong bet for this universe.
