State unions from Córdoba filed a collective injunction against the province's pension reform.
On a day of protest, strike, chaos in the downtown area and work stoppages by workers, legal representatives and general secretaries of the union organizations formalized the legal action against the scope of the reforms that affect the Provincial Pension Fund.
Empleados estatales de Córdoba.
Among the unions that were called are:
Teachers and Health: UEPC, SADOP and SEP
Municipal and Judicial: SUOEM and AGEPJ
Energy and Services: Luz y Fuerza (Cba, Regional and Río Cuarto), Sivialco and Senior Staff (UPS).
Banking Sector: La Bancaria with all its branches (Córdoba, Río Cuarto, Villa María, Marcos Juárez and San Francisco).
Other sectors: Legislative (SELC), Graphic Arts, Musicians, Casinos (ACEC), AMET, APSE and ADEME.
Claim against the Pension Equity Law in Córdoba
The injunction is aimed at the Pension Equity Law (No. 11.087).
The unions maintain that the regulation is unconstitutional because it allows the increase of active workers' personal contributions (up to an additional 8%) and affects the calculation of retirees' benefits.
"We seek to stop the cut suffered by active workers' wages and the degradation of pensions. Córdoba can't be the spearhead of an adjustment that empties the pockets of those who contributed their entire lives," union leaders stated.
The protest day on Friday adds to a series of plans of struggle that have been shaping the political agenda for 2026, in a context of high tension between the unions and the Civic Center over the sustainability of Córdoba's pension system.
