The farewell of Lionel Messi from the Argentine National Team has been at the center of attention even before the match against Benin. While fans are trying to get a ticket to be present at the captain's last appearance in the albiceleste jersey, journalist Agustina Girón harshly criticized the ticket sales process and pointed fingers at the administration of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), led by the disreputable Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia.
In her program El Arranque de El Observador, the communicator focused on how the ticket sales were managed and directly criticized the leadership of the governing body of Argentine football. "The big problem is the administration of the AFA and Chiqui Tapia behind it telling you not to try to understand it," she stated, referring to the well-known spot of the corrupt Tapia that popularized the phrase "Don't try to understand it, enjoy it".
As has been common lately, the ticket sales were once again handled by Deportick, a company linked to Javier Faroni, who is under a strong investigation by federal justice and the FBI for alleged money laundering and the diversion of millions of dollars from the AFA through exclusive contracts abroad.
In this context, Girón again questioned the relationship between Faroni and the organization of the National Team's matches. "That same person is in charge of the company that distributed the tickets for the AFA yesterday and no one could access the tickets," she asserted.
According to her details, the sale sold out in just two hours, although she doubted that this situation truly reflected the number of tickets available to the public. "They sold out in two hours, everyone headlines. Now, the big question is if they sold out, were there tickets available? Because the truth is it seems that those tickets were actually already assigned to Chiqui Tapia's friends, from the AFA, the fans, whoever," she pointed out.
