A study seeks to adapt more Rockstar games for the Nintendo Switch.

The studio Virtuos, specialized in ports and adaptations, stated that it would like to work on versions of more games from Rockstar Games for Nintendo Switch.

The developer, which already participated in the port of L.A. Noire for Switch in 2017, specifically mentioned Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 as titles it would like to adapt for Nintendo consoles.

What Virtuos said about GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2

The information emerged during an interview with the studio by Pocket Tactics. There, representatives from Virtuos stated that the team “is eager” to adapt GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 to Nintendo Switch if the opportunity arises.

For now, there is no official confirmation from Rockstar Games.

Virtuos has already worked with Nintendo and Rockstar

The studio gained notoriety after handling the version of L.A. Noire for Nintendo Switch.

In recent years, it has also collaborated on major projects like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Although it has not yet worked directly with Rockstar again, Virtuos positions itself as one of the studios with the most experience in complex ports.

Why GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 could come to Switch

Grand Theft Auto V has already surpassed 200 million copies sold and remains one of the most successful video games in the industry.

A release on Nintendo platforms would further expand the game's reach.

Additionally, various companies have been betting on relaunching successful titles to extend their commercial life and reduce risks in light of rising development costs.

What doubts exist about these possible ports

One of the main questions revolves around technical performance. For now, it is unclear whether GTA 5 or Red Dead Redemption 2 could run properly on the original Nintendo Switch without significant cuts.

For this reason, speculation has increased about possible versions designed specifically for a future Switch 2.

Rockstar has not confirmed anything yet

Although Virtuos publicly expressed its interest, the final decision completely depends on Rockstar Games.

In the case of Red Dead Redemption, the version for Nintendo Switch was developed by the studio Double Eleven, which could be repeated in future adaptations.

So far, Rockstar has not officially announced new releases for Nintendo platforms.
