A student assembly held at the Patagonian University Institute of the Arts (IUPA), in General Roca, Rio Negro, was marked by an intense cross between the teacher and violinist Marco Fattorello and all the leftist students who participated in the meeting.
The episode highlighted the violence and intolerance of the left in the university environment, within the framework of a debate on the functioning of the education system and the role of unions.
During the meeting, Fattorello took the floor to propose a series of proposals related to the need to reform the university system.
In this context, he said: “First, instead of carrying out so many patoteric and obsolete measures of force that produce a lot of rejection in society, they begin to propose audits in all universities at the national level, and then be able to reform the law of higher education, so that universities stop becoming centers of union struggles for positions.”
In addition, he added: "Another thing, propose to recontest absolutely all positions openly and that they are real contests, and that they look better. Also, that union teachers stop using students for their wage struggles
.”
His interventions generated an immediate reaction from the rest of the participants, who interrupted him repeatedly with cries such as “Long live Perón, colleagues! ”, in addition to rebuking him and saying “facho”
.
Despite the hostile climate, the teacher continued his presentation, maintaining his firm stance against left-wing militants.
Fattorello's message on Instagram
After the assembly, Fattorello expanded his position through his Instagram account, where he once again questioned the functioning of these areas and defended his
intervention.
“I am learning the democratic dynamics of the assemblies. I know that next time I have to “move” my proposals so that they can be voted on because of that, although they were very clear, the current bureaucrat did not include them. I am alone but I still say what I think,” he said
Marco Fattorello.
In another part of his message, he deepened his diagnosis of the university system: “Higher education institutions must have very drastic reforms so that students can really have a better education, adapted to the coming times, that's why I think we need to do audits and reform the higher education law because universities are obsolete, they are literally clubs where unions fight for jobs, workshops useless people (plus charges) use students to make wage claims, and contests don't exist or are a pantomime
.”
In addition, he questioned the internal management mechanisms: “It is the same autarchy that allows arbitrary administrative management that makes it possible to remove/cancel and accommodate the friends of the current bureaucrat.”
Finally, the teacher also referred to the funding of the system and the use of public resources. “PUBLIC EDUCATION IS NOT FREE! It costs a lot of money and it pays to take money from workers BY FORCE through taxes,” he said
.
And he concluded: “That is why it is very unfair that money is wasted on mediocre people such as union members who fight for positions, strike and manipulate and use students is their benefit.”
