Telefe officially announced the departure of Darío Turovelzky from his position as CEO of the channel, marking the end of more than 16 years of association with the company. The announcement comes in the context of a new phase initiated after the acquisition of the channel and a transition process in management.
During his time at Telefe, the producer helped consolidate the channel's leadership in Argentine free-to-air television. His management accompanied the evolution of the industry with the development of content, production, and expansion into multiple platforms.
The shareholders particularly highlighted Turovelzky's commitment, leadership, and professionalism over the years, as well as his key contribution to the company's growth. They thanked him for his career and wished him the greatest success in his upcoming challenges, both professional and personal, keeping the door open for future collaborations.
Since when has Darío Turovelzky worked at Telefe?
Darío Turovelzky joined Telefe in 1998, taking on the role of production assistant on Susana Giménez's program. From that start, he climbed the ranks to reach the general management of the channel.
At the end of 2025, Telefe changed hands with the arrival of businessman Gustavo Scaglione along with José Luis Manzano and Daniel Vila. This move generated significant internal changes in the channel's structure.
In April 2026, Telefe achieved a historic milestone by recording 100 consecutive months as the audience leader. The channel has been the most-watched in the country for 14 years and has offered one of the best programming lineups in Argentine television for 36 years.
Highlighted results from the last month
During April, the channel recorded a share of 45.85% and 6.75 rating points. Adding all its platforms, it reached 34.7 million people, representing 74.6% of the Argentine population.
The match between Universidad Católica and Boca Juniors for the Copa Libertadores was the most-watched of the month and the year, with 15.38 rating points and 62.45% share. Excluding sporting events, Telefe's programs dominated the ranking: the Top 19 most-watched of the month were productions from the channel, led by Gran Hermano Generación Dorada and its elimination gala, which achieved a share of 63.96%.
This departure marks the closure of a successful cycle for Turovelzky, who leaves the channel in an undisputed leadership position in the local market. The transition is presented as a natural part of the evolution of management following the change of ownership.
From Telefe, they emphasized that the relationship with the producer remains close, with expectations of possible joint projects in the future. The Argentine television industry remains attentive to the next steps of one of its key figures in content production and management.
