After a brief ceremony,FIFA announced the winners of the 2025 edition of the The Best Awards. All the attention was on the recognition for the Best Player, an award that ultimately went to Ousmane Dembélé, who had previously won the Ballon d'Or. In addition, other distinctions were presented in both the men's and women's categories:Best Goalkeeper, Best Coach, Best Fans, Fair Play Award, Puskás Award, Marta Award, and the Best XI of the year.

On the Argentine side,Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez was not able to be crowned for the third time in the Best Goalkeeper category, losing out to Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma, who had also been recognized with the Yashin Award. Another Albiceleste representative who was left empty-handed was Alejandro Ciganotto, the Racing fan nominated for walking from Argentina to Rio de Janeiro to witness the Copa Libertadores semifinal between La Academia and Flamengo, who lost the Best Fans Award to Zakho supporters (Iraq).
However, not everything was disappointment.Santiago Montiel, a current Independiente player, won the Puskás Award (Best Goal of the Season) for his spectacular bicycle kick against Independiente Rivadavia in the 2025 Apertura Tournament. With this recognition, the Rojo forward joins Erik Lamela and Alejandro Garnacho on the list of Argentines who have won this honor.
