The polar wave that continues to affect much of the country is hitting Córdoba particularly hard.
In the Mediterranean province, the lowest temperatures of the year are being recorded this week, which has caused school attendance to not be mandatory on either Monday or Tuesday.
Even a union considered requesting the suspension of classes.

This Wednesday, Río Cuarto recorded nearly -10 °C (14 °F), while in other locations such as Tancacha, in the center, it reached -8.3 °C (17.1 °F).
The south and west of Córdoba, where the sierras are located, are the hardest-hit areas, although it was also extremely cold in the center and east.
In almost the entire province, temperatures were below 0 °C (32 °F).

Several days ago, a waterfall froze in the Sierra Comechingona, on the border between Córdoba and San Luis. The site is known as El Salto del Tigre.
