The national deputy Aldo Leiva, a Kirchnerist figure from Chaco and member of Unión por la Patria, was involved in an accident on National Route 11 this Saturday while driving a Toyota Camry that, as was later revealed after the crash, is registered in the name of the Municipality of General San Martín.
The incident occurred around 6:15 PM, at kilometer 1019, within the jurisdiction of Colonia Benítez. For reasons that are still under investigation, the vehicle driven by Leiva collided with a Scania truck driven by a man identified by his initials P. L. B.

Despite the severity of the impact and the visible damage to the car, the 63-year-old legislator from Chaco did not suffer any injuries. An ambulance from FEMECHACO arrived at the scene, and medical personnel confirmed that he was in good health.
The Toyota Camry is registered in the name of the Municipality of General San Martín, the district where Leiva was mayor before arriving in Congress.
This information came from a photo ticket issued on March 30 of this year for speeding. In that infraction, the recipient listed is the Municipality of San Martín itself. So far, the sources reporting the incident have not specified under what circumstances the deputy was using the municipal vehicle or the reason for its availability.
Leiva holds a seat in the Chamber of Deputies for Chaco and currently belongs to the Unión por la Patria bloc, according to the official records of the lower house. His connection to General San Martín is also central to his political career: he governed that municipality for several terms before taking office as a national deputy in 2019.
After the collision, the descending lane of National Route 11 was temporarily blocked, and members of the Highway Police had to intervene to manage traffic while the necessary procedures were carried out.

By order of Fiscal Team No. 15, both Leiva and the truck driver underwent breathalyzer tests. Both results were negative, with 0.00 grams of alcohol per liter.
Authorities continue with the investigations to determine the mechanics of the crash.
