The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has positioned itself as the best-selling game of April 2025, far exceeding industry expectations and marking a new milestone in the trajectory of Bethesda and Microsoft. The remastering of the iconic RPG originally released in 2006 not only led the sales rankings on Xbox and PlayStation, but also achieved a commercial impact that left behind the numbers obtained by the original title in its first 15 months.
Since its release on April 21, the remastered game sold more units in just 13 days than its predecessor did in over a year. Additionally, the revenue obtained in that short period already surpasses what the classic version collected in its first 14 months on the market.
Nostalgia, graphical improvements, and multiplatform strategy
Industry experts point out that the success of Oblivion Remastered is due to a combination of factors: the strength of nostalgia among fans, an attractive graphical redesign, and a smart launch strategy, which included its immediate availability on Xbox Game Pass. This allowed millions of users to access the game from day one, multiplying its visibility and reach.

"This type of well-planned re-releases confirm that classics can still dominate the market if they are adapted to current expectations," explained a specialized video game consultancy.
A title that revitalizes the franchise
The success of Oblivion Remastered is not limited to sales figures: it has also caused a revitalization of interest in The Elder Scrolls as a franchise. According to available data, it is the third best-selling video game of 2025 so far, only behind Monster Hunter: Wilds and Assassin's Creed Shadows.
