In an exclusive interview with Nicolás Promanzio on Letra Chica, the Chief of the Army General Staff, Carlos Alberto Presti, spoke about the recent acquisition of the American Stryker 8x8 armored vehicles by the Government of Javier Milei and explained the strategic and operational impact they will have on the Argentine Armed Forces.
Presti confirmed that the first batch of eight units will be incorporated gradually, with the first four vehicles arriving before the end of the year, while the remaining four units will arrive in the first quarter of 2026. Presti emphasized that the purchase decision was not random, since the Stryker 8x8 combines armor, tactical and strategic mobility, and allows combined arms operations.
The Army Chief highlighted that the incorporation of these vehicles is part of a process of comprehensive modernization that seeks to strengthen the force's preparedness and ensure a rapid and effective response to different contingencies.

In this regard, Presti explained that artificial intelligence (AI) is being integrated into military planning and management through the resolution of complex situations and the improvement of strategic decision-making, enhancing officers' work and optimizing resources.
In addition to technological modernization, Presti referred to the culture and institutional bond within the Army. He mentioned the recent lunch of President Javier Milei with the Grenadiers, expressing his satisfaction with the initiative: "I'm glad they have that bond", explaining that the closeness and communication between the Commander-in-Chief and the forces help strengthen trust and institutional commitment.
