The fall of the Chavista leader unleashed a torrent of mockery on social media, where users celebrated the end of the regime

The arrest of Nicolás Maduro, after the military operation led by the United States in Venezuela, not only shook the international political board, but also triggered an immediate explosion of memes, edited videos, and AI-caused content that flooded social media. While the world analyzed the geopolitical consequences of the event, the internet did what it does best: turn the fall of the Chavista leader into viral humorous material.

The platform X was the main stage for this torrent of reactions. Thousands of users celebrated the end of the regime with irony, jokes, and montages that targeted Maduro directly, whom they had called a dictator for years. In a matter of hours, his image began to circulate in situations that were as absurd as they were symbolic.

One of the most shared memes showed him alongside Bizarrap, starring in an alleged Music Session, alluding to other controversial figures who had passed through the Argentine producer's studio. "BZRP Session: Nicolás Maduro", read the montage, accompanied by fictional lyrics about the collapse of Chavismo.

Artificial intelligence also played a leading role. Users created an anime-style clip that recreates the capture of the Venezuelan leader, with the aesthetics of a Japanese series and exaggerated scenes of the military operation. "They already released the anime of Maduro's arrest," they commented ironically, while the video went viral at great speed.

Another of the most talked-about pieces of content was a fake announcement in which Maduro appeared as the star of the halftime show, in the style of the Super Bowl. With a psychedelic video and epic background music, the Chavista leader entered the scene as if it were an international spectacle. "Maduro will perform at this year's halftime show!" users joked.

Soccer was not left out either. A series of memes circulated in which Maduro was presented as a failed reinforcement, "transferred" or "a free agent", while others compared him to coaches who were fired after a poor season. In a local key, images also appeared that linked him to Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and Néstor Kirchner, reinforcing parallels between authoritarian and populist leadership in the region.

The reactions made a prevailing mood on social media clear: celebration, mockery, and collective catharsis. For many users, humor worked as a way to close a chapter marked by the humanitarian crisis, massive emigration, and Venezuela's economic collapse.
