They claim that Rodrigo De Paul suffered a terrible betrayal: 'You didn't keep your word'

Rodrigo De Paul is going through turbulent days, both professionally and personally. While speculation surrounds his professional future after his time at Atlético de Madrid, in recent hours a version has emerged pointing to an alleged betrayal by Diego "Cholo" Simeone, the current coach of the Colchonero club.

Journalist  Juan Etchegoyen  revealed on his program Mitre Live an exclusive conversation with Spanish communicator Roberto Antolín, who provided previously unknown details about the behind-the-scenes events that may have triggered the Argentine midfielder's departure from the Madrid club.

"Rodrigo De Paul wanted to stay at Atlético de Madrid. He told Cholo Simeone: "You betrayed me, you told me I was going to renew with the club for three or four seasons and you didn't keep your word"," Antolín stated, who also emphasized that this last season was "the best" for the player on the team.

However, the player's plans may have been frustrated after the Club World Cup, in which Atlético's performance was not as expected. According to the journalist, the club may have decided to part ways with De Paul to recover part of the investment made in him. "They pushed him out," Antolín concluded, adding that this situation caused great disappointment for the midfielder.

Amid this sporting setback, the focus also shifted to his personal life. According to the Spanish journalist's account, De Paul considered alternatives that would allow him to stabilize his relationship with Tini Stoessel.  "When Rodrigo saw it was serious and Simeone wasn't going to help him, he called Messi to go to Miami. He's willing to lower his level of competition for Tini", he stated.

The decision may have an important background: an alleged permanent move to the United States, where he may have even acquired a luxurious property valued at six million euros, considering a future life with the singer.

"Rodrigo was thinking about marrying Tini and starting a life together in Miami. But suddenly everything changes. He sees that he was going to be almost without playing, threatened, watching the matches from the box or from his home," Antolín recounted.

In this regard, the player's inner circle rules out options such as Italy or Türkiye due to the difficulties they would pose for maintaining a public and private life with his partner. "Miami is perfect for that", the communicator insisted.

Although for now there is no official confirmation from De Paul or the club, rumors are growing and fueling the version of a contentious departure. The alleged unfulfilled promise by Simeone, institutional pressure, and his relationship with Tini Stoessel would form a combination that could mark an unexpected turning point in the world champion's career.
