An explosive device was found this Friday in a Mercado Libre logistics center, which forced the immediate evacuation of the warehouse that the company operates in Mercado Central, in Villa Celina. The detection activated internal protocols and led to the intervention of the Explosives Directorate of the Buenos Aires Province Police.
The incident occurred a few hours after an explosive attack at the Escuela Superior de Gendarmería Nacional Argentina, located at Paseo Colón 533, in the City of Buenos Aires. There, a parcel that had been kept in custody detonated when it was handled, leaving two non-commissioned officers injured with burns, who were transported by SAME to Argerich Hospital. A third officer was assisted at the scene and another person received oxygen as a preventive measure.

In the case of the logistics warehouse, the specialists verified that the package contained a cell phone and a black plastic box connected to each other by cables, a configuration compatible with an explosive device. After the technical verification, the presence of the explosive was confirmed and the area was secured to neutralize risks.
The company founded by Marcos Galperín stated that the safety of its employees is a priority and that, once the police intervention was completed, the storage center resumed activity normally. No injuries were reported in that operation.
Meanwhile, after the detonation at the headquarters of the federal force, the Explosives Department intervened, which established a preventive perimeter and the partial evacuation of the building. The City Police, Fire Department, and the Special Federal Rescue Brigade of the Argentine Federal Police also worked at the scene, inspecting other areas to rule out the presence of more devices. Sources in the case confirmed that there were two other parcels pending opening that were not handled until the forensic examinations were completed.

Both incidents, which occurred within a few hours of each other, raised serious security concerns. The investigations aim to determine the origin of the devices, how they entered the respective circuits, and whether there is any type of connection between the incidents.
Both cases remain under judicial and forensic analysis. Authorities are not ruling out a possible connection between the incidents, given the temporal proximity and the method used, while they attempt to determine responsibilities and the origin of the shipments.
