There is alarm in Córdoba over a possible case of influenza A (H3N2) K variant.
This is an 87-year-old man who was hospitalized at Rawson Hospital, who reportedly had contact with a person who arrived from Europe.
"He is an older adult who presented respiratory symptoms, who required hospitalization and who evolved favorably," said Doctor Sonia Nieva, director of Strategic Health Planning, who detailed that the man is in good condition.
Córdoba on alert over the H3N2 flu variant
The professional explained that the province doesn't have the specific technology to type the variants, and for that reason the sample was taken to Buenos Aires.

The flu is hitting hard in the Northern Hemisphere and there are already cases in neighboring countries, which is why the provincial health ministry urged people to get vaccinated.
"Any traveler who has not been vaccinated in 2025, please get vaccinated before traveling. It is advisable to do so at least 10 days before the departure date."
