This was Mario Pergolini's return: irony, politics, and a one-on-one with Francella

With high-level production and sharp humor, Pergolini made his presence felt once again on broadcast TV

The most anticipated return to Argentine television has finally happened. Mario Pergolini returned to the small screen after more than a decade of absence. The host debuted this Monday on El Trece  with Otro Día Perdido, a show that blends political humor, current events, and high-profile interviews, true to his provocative style.

The show started after 10:30 p.m. and featured a special guest: Guillermo Francella.  In his first appearance, Pergolini showcased his usual sarcasm, entering with dark sunglasses and a black suit, a clear nod to the glory days of CQC. The nostalgic tone was just the starting point.

A show with irony, current events, and meticulous production

From the opening monologue, the host took shots at all sides. With self-referential humor, he opened by saying: "Here we are, that's it. I'm leaving. I'm retiring." The phrase sparked the first laughs in the studio.

He then targeted Argentine politics with sharp comments. He spoke about the conviction of  Cristina Kirchner, made ironic remarks about the libertarian infighting, and compared Victoria Villarruel to the former president:  "I don't know if you noticed that Villarruel is looking more and more like Cristina."

The show's script was written by  Alejandro Borensztein, with the original idea by Diego Guebel, Pergolini himself, and Agustín "Rada" Aristarán, who also served as co-host alongside  Laila Roth.  The voiceover was done by Paulina Cocina, who surprised with her touch of humor.

Francella, AI, parodies, and the "Wandagate"

The night included satirical sketches, such as a parody of "Remáximo", a fictional real estate agency led by Máximo Kirchner, offering properties in the same building where Cristina is under house arrest.

In addition, a clip caused by artificial intelligence was aired, showing manipulated versions of Milei, Macri, Cristina, and Alberto Fernández. Marcelo Polino  also appeared in a special segment where  he broke down the Wandagate  as if it were a case study.

Guillermo Francella was the main guest in the final interview. The actor spoke about his past as a journalist, revealed secrets of his acting memory, and agreed to participate in  a magic trick by Rada.  The conversation took place on an intimate set,  with a carefully designed aesthetic that once again demonstrated Pergolini's obsession with details.

Even the PNTs had a cinematic level. The visual production made it clear that Pergolini remains a pioneer when it comes to television aesthetics.

From his introduction and at various moments, the host made references to the reasons for his return: "Thank you, Adrián (Suar), for bringing me back. I needed it... especially for financial reasons."

With an innovative format, sharp irony, and a high level of production, Pergolini once again set the agenda.  Otro Día Perdido not only brought him back into the spotlight, but also proved that he still has much to say. His return, far from being lukewarm, stands out as one of the most talked-about events of the year.
