Three establishments operating as veterinary clinics were shut down in Córdoba for selling medications without authorization or professional supervision. The Ministry of Bioagroindustry led the procedures in Lozada and Río Segundo after detecting irregularities in the sale of animal products. The inspections were carried out as part of the provincial program for health oversight and control of veterinary establishments.
During the inspections, the inspectors found that the establishments lacked official authorization and the technical direction of a veterinarian. These violations infringe Provincial Law No. 6429, which regulates the sale of zootherapeutic products in the province. The regulations require that any pharmacy or veterinary clinic selling animal-use medications must have a valid registration and a licensed professional in charge.
As a result of the operations, the authorities ordered the preventive closure of the three establishments involved. The entrances were sealed with official tape and more than 3,000 unauthorized products were seized. Among the confiscated items were antiparasitics, antibiotics, and supplements, whose uncontrolled sale poses a health risk to animals and people.
