Amid a left-wing student takeover at the Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires (CNBA), a prestigious high school under the jurisdiction of the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), a serious case of sexual abuse occurred that shook the educational community and the entire country at that time, which Ofelia Fernández, then a student leader, attempted to cover up.
The incident took place during the night of September 7, 2017, involving a 14-year-old female student as the victim and an 18-year-old male student, an adult and legally responsible, as the accused. The young woman, who knew the perpetrator and considered him a "friend," described the experience as "horrible," leaving her deeply affected.
A week later, the victim shared her testimony in a closed Facebook group exclusive to CNBA students, where she also warned that this was not an isolated case at the institution. Members of the CNBA student council were the first to find out about the incident, before the school authorities.

However, they decided not to report it immediately to the authorities, justifying it on the supposed "respect for the victim's wishes." It was not until September 27, more than 20 days later, that the school authorities, led by principal Gustavo Zorzoli, learned of the incident.
