The oral trial for the mega-case known as “Cuadernos” has entered its final stretch of reading accusations in one of its central sections. This concerns the cartelization of public works through the Argentine Chamber of Road Companies, a case nicknamed in Comodoro Py as “La Camarita”.
In hearing number twelve, the Federal Oral Court No. 7 continued with the presentation of the case and is approaching the end of this part of the process. The main individuals involved are Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Julio De Vido and José López as the main political defendants.

According to the accusation by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the objective of the scheme was to secure awards and payments through a system of "kickbacks" that allegedly ranged between 3% and 20%, structured with intermediaries and collectors.
Businesspeople identified and amounts of awarded works
During the reading, the court detailed examples of the alleged exchange between illegal payments and contractual benefits. Among the names mentioned is Ángelo Calcaterra (linked to IECSA), who is attributed multiple payments and is connected to awards for multimillion amounts within the investigated period.
Aldo Benito Roggio also appears, former head of Benito Roggio e Hijos, accused by the prosecution of eleven payments made between June 2009 and September 2010 for around 5.9 million pesos, while, according to what was presented, the National Highway Directorate allegedly awarded him 22 projects for more than 3.3 billion pesos.

In parallel, the dynamic described by the accusation returns to a structural point: the capture of the State to sustain a circuit of collection and distribution. This scheme consolidated business and political privileges outside any transparency rules.
What comes next in the trial
According to what was reported in the hearing, the Court plans to conclude the reading of "La Camarita". Likewise, it intends to move forward with other parallel cases linked to bribes in road corridors and irregularities in railway contracts, which also form part of the universe of investigations derived from the Cuadernos case.

In a later stage, after the complete reading of the accusations, the process will move toward the section where the evidence is ordered and individual responsibilities are examined in greater depth. The trial seeks to corroborate and judge whether there was a structure of systemic corruption linked to public works during the years under investigation.
