The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, asked Governor Axel Kicillof to take responsibility for the serious security problem in Buenos Aires Province following the triple drug-related homicide in Florencio Varela. In radio statements, the official emphasized that the main investigation is in the hands of the Buenos Aires police and the provincial Ministry of Security, although she highlighted the collaboration of federal forces since the beginning of the case.
Bullrich expressed solidarity with the victims' families and confirmed that the National Directorate for Trafficking worked alongside the local prosecutor's office from the very beginning. The minister called for caution and avoided giving details about the case in order not to hinder the investigation, which is still in its initial stage.
Criticism of the politicization of the case
The head of Security warned against the political manipulation of the crime and rejected attempts to classify it as a gender-based incident. She considered that this stance "trivializes" the seriousness of what happened and pointed out that drug trafficking requires a different approach. According to her, between 85% and 90% of the fight against these gangs falls on the federal forces.

In line with this, Bullrich emphasized the validity of the Anti-Mafia Law, which allows all members of a criminal organization to be charged regardless of the specific role they play. She also called for a review of criminal intelligence systems in critical areas such as La Matanza, where violent groups with great destructive capacity operate.
