Trump and Putin spoke in Alaska about a possible reduction of the nuclear arsenal.
The U.S. President revealed to the press this Monday that one of the topics he discussed with Putin in Alaska a few weeks ago was a possible nuclear reduction
United States President Donald Trump revealed on Monday that during his historic summit in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin, one of the topics discussed was the possibility of limiting the nuclear arsenals of both powers, with the intention of including China in this process.
During an event at the White House, the Republican leader again referred to his meeting with Putin, peace in Ukraine, and, as a new development, nuclear issues. "His trip to Alaska was a major statement that he wants to make it happen. It wasn't easy for him, but it was a successful day," Trump commented, referring to the visit made by his Russian counterpart.
"We're talking about many different things. We're talking about limiting nuclear weapons. We're going to include China in that," Trump announced, thus revealing a topic of conversation between the two leaders that had previously been unknown.

Trump warns about China's nuclear arsenal.
The head of state has emphasized that the United States leads the list of countries with the largest number of nuclear weapons. "We have the most. Russia is second and China, third," he stated.
Nevertheless, Trump warned that China is expanding its nuclear arsenal and that could pose a danger to national security. "China is far behind, but they're going to catch up with us in five years," the American president stressed.
The ramifications of the summit between Trump and Putin two weeks ago have been extensive. Last week, a group of European leaders visited, together with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the White House. There, the leaders met with Trump to present a joint proposal to end the war in Ukraine.
The Kremlin, meanwhile, has for the first time in a long while given signs of granting security guarantees that would prevent any kind of future military action on Ukrainian territory. With peace in Europe on the horizon and Trump in the White House, talking about limited denuclearization doesn't seem outlandish.
