Trump's approval ratings soar after his meeting with Putin
According to a survey, President Donald Trump's approval ratings have increased due to his handling of the conflict in Ukraine
A new survey conducted by consulting firm InsiderAdvantage in the past week reveals a significant increase in President Donald Trump's approval, especially following his recent summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, held last Friday.
The results show that 54% of respondents approve of Trump's administration, while 44% expressed their disapproval. These numbers mark a new improvement in presidential performance compared to other recent surveys, such as the Pew Research Center's at the beginning of August.
The poll also highlights that Trump has managed to achieve majority approval in all age groups, except among those over 65 years old. In the age segments of 18 to 39 years and 40 to 64 years, 57% of respondents supported Trump. Additionally, an increase in approval among African American and Hispanic voters is reported.

This surge in the president's popularity comes in a context of intense diplomatic efforts to facilitate a peace agreement in the war between Russia and Ukraine. The summit with Putin in Alaska on Friday, which Trump described as "very productive," was the first major step taken in that direction.
"It was an extremely productive meeting and many points were agreed upon. Only a few remain. We didn't get all the way there, but we have a very good chance of achieving it," Trump stated at a bilateral press conference following the summit.
One of the most significant breakthroughs reported after the meeting in Alaska was an unexpected gesture of concession from Putin. Steve Witkoff, Trump's special envoy for diplomatic affairs, announced on Sunday that Russia agreed, for the first time, to allow the United States and European nations to offer security guarantees to Ukraine in a possible peace agreement.

"We reached an agreement by which the United States and other European nations could offer security guarantees similar to Article 5," Witkoff explained in an interview on the State of the Union program. Trump's confidant emphasized that this is the first time Russia has accepted such a provision.
This Monday morning, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Washington along with other European leaders to meet with Trump at the White House. According to reports, this meeting was much more cordial and productive than previous encounters between the two leaders.
The InsiderAdvantage survey gains greater relevance considering that the firm has no political bias and was recognized by RealClearPolitics as one of the ten best pollsters in general elections between 2014 and 2022, even surpassing traditional media and platforms such as YouGov.
