Trump's spokesperson denied the fake news that Elon Musk is being fired.
Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, spoke about the false story published by the Democratic rag 'Politico.'
The White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, denied the recent Politico report that indicated Donald Trump had informed his cabinet and others close to him that Elon Musk would soon leave his position in the government.
Leavitt called the information "garbage" and clarified that both Musk and Trump have publicly confirmed that Musk will continue in his role until he finishes his work on the DOGE initiative (Department of Government Efficiency), which was created with the goal of cutting costs and dismantling bureaucracy in the United States.
According to the Politico report, three sources close to the matter mentioned that Trump remained enormously satisfied with Musk's efficiency in restructuring the government.

However, Politico also incorrectly pointed out that Trump had recently communicated that Musk, who is also CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, would leave his position as a special government employee in the coming weeks.
Musk was appointed to lead efforts to cut funding and reorganize various federal agencies, including the elimination of bureaucracy, in a public service position that was initially expected to last 130 days.
The report indicated that this decision would represent a significant change in the relationship between Trump and Musk, who have planned for Musk to remain involved in the Trump administration.

Although the White House and Musk did not respond to requests for comments on the false news, the Trump administration had acknowledged in previous months the great importance of Musk in executing the president's agenda, and the White House spokesperson, Harrison Fields, reaffirmed that President Trump was willing to keep Musk in his position as long as possible.
The billionaire had financially supported Trump's campaign and, after the Republican's victory in the elections, was appointed to lead DOGE, a commission aimed at improving government efficiency and cutting unnecessary expenses.
Musk, who is also known for his leadership in Tesla and SpaceX, had mentioned in interviews that he was confident he could complete most of his work related to reducing federal spending before his departure.

During his time in the government, Musk led significant efforts to cut approximately one trillion dollars from federal spending, which included measures involving massive layoffs within various agencies that represented large deficits, especially in the State Department.
This staff reduction caused strong opposition among Democrats, who have expressed concern about the impact of Musk's reforms on the government and federal bureaucracy.
Democrats have begun to advance legislative initiatives, such as the American Diplomacy Defense Act, which seeks to curb the cuts, especially those that would affect key areas like immigration and tariffs on countries supplying raw materials to American farmers.
The proposal seeks to prevent the State Department from being reorganized without the consultation and approval of Congress, but due to the Republican majority in both chambers and the White House's support for Musk, it is considered to have little chance of becoming law.
