An operation by DDI Lomas de Zamora resulted in the arrest of two members of Banfield's barrabrava, belonging to the faction known as "La Berutti," as part of an extortion case.
The investigation, led by UFI No. 8 of Lomas de Zamora and headed by prosecutor Jorge Grieco, began after a street vendor who worked at the pedestrian entrance to Banfield station filed a complaint, stating that he had been threatened by members of the barrabrava, who demanded a "weekly fee" to allow him to keep his spot.
The case started on July 28, when the victim reported that several men had come to his stall on different occasions, identifying themselves as members of Banfield's barrabrava. Based on his testimony, prosecutor Grieco ordered DDI to carry out surveillance tasks, analysis of security cameras, and surveys of residences.
