Two rural laborers were arrested for causing a wildfire in Córdoba

Two rural laborers are under investigation, suspected of being the ones who started a rural fire in Córdoba.

The workers were detained in recent hours in the town of Jerónimo Cortez, San Justo Department, in the eastern part of the province, identified as those responsible for starting a fire in the field where they were performing tasks.

According to the initial investigation, the men allegedly threw a lit cigarette that set fire to the dry vegetation, creating a fire outbreak that quickly spread throughout the area.

Police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed the situation, proceeding with the arrest of the suspects.

Operation to combat the fire

Additionally, a unit of Balnearia Volunteer Firefighters assisted in the operation, working intensively until the fire was brought under control.

Finally, the detainees were taken to the police station, where they remain at the disposal of the Justice while investigations continue to determine the extent of the damage caused.
