Patón Guzmán's unusual provocation against Sergio Ramos before a penalty
The Argentine goalkeeper turned his back with a defiant look at the Spaniard in the Liga MX match between Tigres and Monterrey
Tigres de la UANL and Rayados de Monterrey starred in the 140th Clásico Regio on matchday 15 of the Clausura 2025 of Liga MX. The local team won the match with a score of 2 to 1, after a last-minute comeback. However, all eyes were on the penalty by Sergio Ramos on Nahuel "El Patón" Guzmán, both key players for their teams.
In the first half, there were no major chances, but everything changed at the start of the second half, when at 50 minutes, referee Marco Antonio Ortiz awarded a penalty in favor of the team led by Martín Demichelis, after a mistake by Diego Lainez, who was sent off. The responsibility for the penalty fell to Sergio Ramos.
As usual, El Patón, Tigres's goalkeeper, began his mental show and decided to turn his back on the Spaniard, walking across his goal while dancing and jumping. Due to the red card shown to Lainez, there was a pause of almost two minutes, time that Guzmán used to try to unsettle his opponent with his movements.

Ramos, undeterred, replied with a smile and a defiant gesture, apparently telling the goalkeeper that he would try to chip the ball and to be careful. Finally, the former Real Madrid player executed the shot with precision, sending the ball to the left post, out of Guzmán's reach, who couldn't prevent the goal despite his intimidation attempts.
Moreover, as if that wasn't enough, Ramos replicated his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo's famous celebration, sparking euphoria among his teammates and causing a momentary silence among Tigres fans. Meanwhile, he gave a defiant look to the Argentine, implying that his "tricks" didn't work on him.
Beyond the penalty scored by the Spaniard, the rest of the match didn't have much significant action until the final minutes. At 90, Sebastián Córdova scored a stunning free-kick goal to level the match, and at 90 + 9, Nico Ibáñez completed Tigres's comeback with a lethal header.
